Maschine 2 – Using Footswitches with Maschine Studio Hardware – How to Tutorial

In this tutorial, using footswitches with the Maschine Studio hardware is covered. We recommend a configurable, dual footswitch like the Boss FS-6 used in this tutorial. When connected to the Maschine Studio hardware using TS instrument cables (or a TRS insert cable), the channel connected to the first footswitch input acts like the play button and the second acts like the record button.

Using footswitches this way can free up our hands, as is especially useful for playing continuously and turning the record arm on and off. In the Controller Editor software, the inputs are configurable and can be mapped as notes, CCs, and much more, with more options for behavior. This is unusual for MIDI controllers, and unique among Native Instruments’ own line. We’d love to see any of your mappings for the Maschine Studio hardware using the footswitch inputs.
